I decided to quit Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for now. Just couldn’t get into it and past the 1st chapter.
I picked up Rules Of Attraction at a local record when I went home for the weekend. I started reading it this morning on the drive back to San Diego and I can’t let it out of my sight now. 
Written by Bret Easton Ellis, the man who also wrote American Psycho, the book follows a collection of college students in the early 80’s. One thing I found interesting about the book is that there aren’t really chapters. Instead it’s written in short excerpts from the characters point of view as they go about their daily lives of skipping class, getting drunk, high, and laid (mostly all at the same time). It’s really a study of the different relationships they have.
The short description on the back of the book says, “Rules of Attraction is a poignant, hilarious take on the death of romance.” Fitting.
